Hi, I’m McCaw, the stealthy sidekick of Lick of Approval! As the sleek and fast black and white Border Collie, I'm like the stealth fighter to Carter's Hercules airplane. While Carter's busy with his rope and bones, you'll find me zipping around, chasing balls, barking at birds, fetching sticks, and cooling off in the farm trough like a pro.

Every morning, you'll find me stationed outside Mum's bedroom door, eagerly awaiting that first cuddle of the day. And let me tell you, nothing beats the taste-testing job when Mum's whipping up those cool dog treats. It's a tough gig, but someone's got to do it!

And I'm Carter. When I'm not busy taste-testing all the scrumptious dog treats my mum whips up, you can find me enjoying my favourite pastime: a fun game of tug of war with my trusty rope toy or chomping down on a juicy bone.

Mum reckons I get a little jealous when Georgie, the lovely lady border collie up the road, starts cozying up to my brother. I see it more as just keeping things in line. There’s nobody getting between me and my bro on my watch!

I admit, I'm not exactly a fitness fanatic. With my arthritis acting up, I used to dread those long walks. But guess what? Mum came to the rescue with a slick new black pram, and now I'm back in action, while McCaw and Mum are strutting their stuff on our leisurely strolls, I’m happily pushed along without any worries at all. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Meet Our Mum Maree: The Mastermind Behind Lick of Approval! 

Hey there! It’s Carter and McCaw. If you've ever wondered who's responsible for the delicious doggie treats at Lick of Approval, let us introduce you to our amazing mum, Maree!

Before diving headfirst into the world of pup-approved goodies, Maree was the proud owner and operator of Flips Pancakes, a legendary pancake caravan that flipped its way into the hearts of breakfast lovers everywhere. But Maree's culinary adventures didn't stop there. After a stint in catering, she decided to channel her creative cooking skills into something truly pawsome: baking for our four-legged friends.

When she's not busy managing a couple of hundred people as a full-time People & Culture Manager at a skincare manufacturing company here in Canterbury, Maree can be found whipping up batches of tail-wagging treats for dogs of all shapes and sizes. And let us tell you, her recipes are nothing short of drool-worthy!

Luckily mum isn't all work and no play! When she's not busy in the doggy kitchen, you'll find her out and about, enjoying long walks with us, her beloved four-legged besties, soaking up quality time with family and friends, trying to relax outside – if we don’t jump all over her, and maybe sneaking in a bit of her other passion: cooking up a storm for humans too!

So, here's to our mum –the doggie treats extraordinaire, and the heart and soul behind Lick of Approval.

From surprise zoomies across the studio to uninvited face licks mid-shoot, they keep us laughing and on our toes. They’re not just cute—they’re also committed to quality control.
