Hi! We’re McCaw and Carter.
Welcome to Lick of Approval, where our mum whips up homemade dog treats with nothing but love and natural goodness! She makes them here at home in Kirwee, Canterbury.
The treats are always free from added sugars and artificial ingredients, which gets a big “paws up” from us! And best of all we get to try them for you, and they are always DOGALICIOUS!

Hi, I’m McCaw, the stealthy sidekick of Lick of Approval! As the sleek and fast black and white Border Collie, I’m like the stealth fighter to Carter’s Hercules airplane. While Carter’s busy with his rope and bones, you’ll find me zipping around, chasing balls, barking at birds, fetching sticks, and cooling off in the farm trough like a pro.

Hey there, I’m Carter, one of the resident canine connoisseurs at Lick of Approval. When I’m not busy taste-testing all the scrumptious dog treats my mum whips up, you can find me enjoying my favourite pastime: a fun game of tug of war with my trusty rope toy or chomping down on a juicy bone.
What Mum makes for you to enjoy:
What are in our dog treats?
Mum uses the best products she can find for our treats. Lots of wholemeal flour for extra nutritional value, and then depending on what she’s making, natural peanut butter, eggs, olive oil, honey, rosemary, pureed pumpkin, or apple sauce, and greek yogurt or a little cream cheese for the frosting!
That sure gets our lick of approval!
FAQ’s
-
Hooowl yes! All of the ingredients in the dog treats are considered safe, healthy, and nutritional. Peanut butter contains essential vitamins and healthy fats, and the whole wheat flour has extra nutritional value as well. Honey contains sugar (of course), but mum only uses a small amount. Just remember though... They are a treat!
-
Yes, peanut butter is generally considered safe for dogs to eat. Mum only uses natural peanut butter with no additives or artificial sweeteners. And dogs love it!
-
Store homemade treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator, for up to 2 months or in the freezer for up to 8 months.
-
Yep! If your pup is allergic to wheat, she will use a flour alternative, like rice flour.
-
We dogs can have allergies just like people, so while these ingredients are all safe for dogs in general, make sure you know what your dog can and cannot eat. We recommend giving them a small bite to test these treats out before you start using them regularly.
